Re: Domain Upgrade

Hi
1. We are running SFU 3.5 on the DC's, any problems with this for the
upgrade?

2. Our DNS servers are Lucent Qip, any issues?
The DNS must support srv records and dynamic updates or you need to update
those records manually.

3. How much free diskspace is recommended for the upgrade. One of my
DC's only has 800mg free
This sounds too small however, the minimum space requirements for the
directory database and log files - Ntds.dit partition and log file
partition: On either partition, free disk space must not fall below the
greater of 500 MB or 20 percent of the combined Ntds.dit and log file
sizes.Ntds.dit and log files on the same volume: Free disk space must not
fall below the greater of 1 gigabyte (GB) or 20 percent of the combined
Ntds.dit and log file sizes.

4. 2 of the DC's are also WINS servers, any issues?
No.

5. in Microsoft Article 325379 they include steps to verify that the
forestprep and domain prep changes
So?... /forestprep on schema master, /domainprep on IM Master.

have been completed but they don't tell you how to perform this or
what tool to use
adprep /forestprep
adprep /domainprep

Do you have exchange 2000?
take a look:

Planning on an upgrade from Windows 2000 AD to Windows 2003 AD.
I have read most of the posts on this and have looked at the Microsoft
Docs. I however have a few
questions that I cannot seem to find.
