I've inherited a Win2K network. Until recently, there was but a single
domain controller. It appears to have served numerous functions across
the
years. (File server. Print server. Exchange. Remote server. DHCP.
DNS.
Probably other little stuff I haven't discovered.) Now it is experiencing
several problems which I have been unable to resolve.
What I would like to do is demote this box so it's not a DC. Then wipe
it,
reload Windows and only Windows, then bring it back in and promote it to
the
PDC role.
I've done a bunch of reading on this. I see that I need to transfer the
master functions to my other DC effectively promoting it to the PDC role.
Are there any other "gotchas" I need to be aware of before attempting
this?
Any words of advice are greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
