Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance
AD is highly programmable, so this is definitely something you can build
yourself. I basically wrote a book about that if you like programming in
..NET.
There are also lots of products and toolkits out there that will give you
varying levels of features and abstractions on top of AD, depending on your
budgets, needs and desires.
The bottom line is that lots of people do this, but MS doesn't really
provide you much more than APIs to build your own thing right out of the
box.
