Re: Log on to: Windows XP Pro Domain Logon Question

if you create a trust with any domain, you will see these all domains in the
same drop down list..

This is a great solution. Thank you very much.

I would still be interested to know if there is a way to modify the log on
to pull down though.

You could have them enter their upn name in the USER Name entry field in the
MSGINA. Which is the User Account name and AD DNS name. This would appear
as an e-mail address. Thereby you would bypass having to ever enter a
domain name. As a matter of fact it will gray out once you hit the @ sign.

So a user who has an account in widgets.com and acme.com but have the same
user account id in both could log into either location simplay by changing
the domain name

Example
bgates@xxxxxxxxxxx will log onto the widgets domain -and-
bgates@xxxxxxxx will log onto the acme.com domain

So, when you turn on your computer and your logon screen comes up, you
will
have your domain name and your local computer name. What I am trying to is
have multiple domain logon options here.

The situation is that we have multiple customers with domains and we want
to
have their domains listed on there all the time so we don't have to add to
the domain everytime and lose what was on there.

I was told that there is a cache file somewhere on the local system that
holds those names and I could make it a read only file so that when a
domain
is added, it won't overwrite, it will just add. I don't know if this is
true
or not, but I am looking for some type of solution. Any ideas would be
appreciated.
