Re: Some Group Policy Settings not propogating?

Thanks Jorge,

When I close my eyes, I see the gpupdate /force at the command prompt in my
mind ;)

I will take a look at the two articles you have pointed out. Appreciate the
input.

Hi

Start by running gpupdate /force then run rsop.msc and check if it's being
applied.

This has been driving me nuts for two days now. Here we go..

Base question is:

Some settings in my policy propagate to the client computers while others
do
not. Why? What am I doing incorrectly? How can I get them all to
propogate?

Test environment =

Windows 2003 Server SP1
Two Windows XP Professional Tablet Edition w/SP2
OU=OU1
Members of OU1 are Group1
Members of Group1 are Tuser1

Group Policy is Policy 1
Policy 1 is linked to OU1

The main focus of Policy one is
User Configuratoin>Administrative Templates>Network>Network Connections

Any setting that has "Ability" is disabled and any setting that has
"Prohibit" is enabled.

I also have a Local Computer Policy that sets up a Software Restriction
for
a Path Rule that is set under Computer Configuration, not User
Configuration.
I could not get this policy to push out either via Group Policy over the
network

This all works Great. Exactly how it should at the client. It is when I
go
in and add any of the following for example that "they" are not pushed to
the
client.

User Configuration>Administrative Templates>Control Panel

Setting=Enable on Prohibit access to the control panel

User Configuration>Administrative Templates>Desktop

Setting = Enable Hide My Network Places icon on Desktop.

These are only a couple of settings that do not get pushed out to the
client.

It is evident that DNS is configured properly as the first settings of the
policy discussed above are applied.

When I run Group Policy Modeling it appears that the only time I see my
settings for User Configuration is when the modeling is run against the OU
itself. When run against the User the User Configuration settings do not
show up.

If I do the Group Policy Results against the user on the specific
computer.
I get the same thing, no User Configuration settings are being pushed out.
However, obviously some are if my first set of settings are doing what I
want
them to do.

Do you see my dilemna? Any help, ideas, things to look for, would be
great.

Thanks,
