Re: Roaming Profile Deleted Unexpectedly

as i wrote in my original port on "intended to" part,I want to implement
roaming profile;but since "desktop" and "my documents" get large over time;I
excluded them from roaming through GPO;then used redirection to simulate
Desktop and My documents Roaming.if this config works then I've got rid of
long time of copying the roaming profiles from server to workstation, also
have the benefits of roaming profile(desktop config roaming and ...).

1.I don't want to have two separate folder on my server .one for roaming and
one for redirection.
2.I want to use both roaming and redirection and use the in the same folder
\\share\%username%

why can't I do this?

The Desktop folder is already part of the profile. The purpose of
Redirecting the Desktop folder, or other folders, is to take them out of the
profile and put them somewhere else.
What are you trying to achieve?

You need to redirect the Desktop folder to a different network share than
the roaming profile,

this is the senario:

DC and Roaming profile server: Win2kAdvSP4 + Update Rollup 1
Workstation : Win2kServerSP4 + Update Rollup 1 as member server (not
DC)
Roaming profile Share path : \\DC\Profiles$
Roaming Profile path set on AD User Account : \\DC\Profiles$\%Username%
Policies set: Folder redirection for Desktop to "
\\DC\Profiles$\%Username%\Desktop
Exclude these files from Roaming : Desktop (+All the default ones).

problem:
the first time user logs in,everything works fine as expected.
after second or third logging time, everything on
\\DC\Profiles$\<username>\Desktop is deleted!
worths mentioning that after each sign out of user, administrator logs
in
and
deletes local cache of user profile through system->user profiles;just
to
make sure that next time roaming profile of user is copied to local
cache.
why is everything deleted?

intended to Do:
combine Roaming profiles and Folder Redirection so that the user
benefits
from Roaming Profile feature, but get free from the long time needed to
copy
Desktop and other large folders from server to workstation.
