We have 2 domains in one forest.
local.com and tokal.com. We need to upgrade local.com DCs to Win2003
Servers
local.com has 2 DCs running Windows 2000 Servers. This domain has the 5
roles on DC A and DC B does not have any roles.
tokal.com has 22 DCs and have the 3 roles.
The problem we ran into is there is not enough disk space on the DC A in
local.com to perform the upgrade to Windows 2003.
This is what I have thought....
I will DCPROMO the DC B in local.come and wipe it and install Wind2003
Server, DCPROMO it and transfer all the roles 5 roles from DC A to this new
DC B running Win2003. Once done successfully ... then I'll DCPROMO the DC A
and wipe and install Win2003 as a DC. And then turn everything into Native
mode in both domains.
Please advise if this is good way to do ... if not please let me know.
Thanks
