For what purpose do you require time sync (since they are not in a domain)?

I have problem to make my time sync work it won't work at all unless my 2
computer ( Win 2003 server and winXP ) have joined a domain... the domain
dont even need to be the same..

2003 need to be synced from the my winxp machine

But i can't let them into a domain... so if someone know the solution to
this !! it would be apreciated Thanks !
