Re: Domain Not Found

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

could possibly be DNS, but I usually get problems exactly like the one you suggest because of WINS.

Make sure WINS is running on the server, and that the clients you wish to put on the domain are configured to use the server for their primary WINS.

Hope this helps

I have recently set up a network for a small business. I am running one
server with Server 2003 and 5 client machines using XP Professional. All
wired machines are connected to a switch which is behind a wireless router,
to which all wireless workstations are connected. I have set the server up
as a domain controller and installed Active Directory Services. I then added
users, groups, and computers to ADS. However, I then attempted to join the
client machines to the server domain, and it tells me that a domain
controller by that name could not be found. I have tried entering the full
DNS name (ABC.net) and the NetBIOS name (ABC). Neither of the two are
successful. Any advice pertaining to this issue would be greatly appreciated.
