Creat a startup script in a GPO, targeting this GPO to only the
machines you would like. When the machine starts up, the script will
run. We run a startup script on all of our machines - stuff we cant do
in the logon script (permission reasons). Remember to copy the script
to all the machines first before setting the policy.

I have written 2 batch files that i need to deploy on our domain. The
batch files kill a process. uninstalls a program from the systems and
deletes the program directory. One batch is for Win2000 and the other
is for WindowsXP. We have a Windows 2000 Domain running a mixture of
mostly Windows2000 machines, some WindowsXP machines and a few NT4 and
WIN98 machines as well. The NT4 and WIN98 machines are not running the
software i need to remove. What is my best bet for quickly deploying
these batch files to the correct machines (I thought about writing a
batch file to detect the OS and either launch the correct batch file or
exit but I'm not sure how to write that one). Our resident AD person is
tied up with other things and it will be at least a week or two before
she can help me deploy it but if i can figure it out on my own she
would let me do a test deployment.
