Re: R2 in-place upgrade bug ? ..HELP

Hi

- IPSEC and ICS/ICF are disabled by default unless you change that.
- To check which policies are being applied run rsop.msc from command
prompt.
- To Disable ICF go to services mmc console, and make the startup type to
disable the Windows Firewall/ICS Service.
- Do you have any Firewall installed on the DC that might cause this?

I hope that the information above helps you

Good Luck

Thanks Jorge.

I don't think i figured everything out. I still can't ping the server from
any workstation in the same subnet.

any workstation outside the subnet, and server, can resolve this box.

The problem is, the traffic may not be relegated to just icmp.

a Dell software enginner mentioned it could be a group policy opbject that
was upgraded from win2k that possibly applies to the "main office" and
enabled the Windows ICF or IPSEC

thoughts on what to do ?

run gpinventory and gpmc reports to verify ?

well glad that you've everything working. As for the TCPIP you should post
that in ngp at Security or Networking, there you can have a better answer.
