Many thanks to everyone for taking time to respond to my questions and
sharing your views - much appreciated :)
I think I will go with a basic OU structure just to keep things organised
for my own personal satisfaction - I'm not too keen on scrolling through a
bloated 'Users' container filled with user accounts, security groups and
distribution groups. I'll most likely create an OU for each dept to keep
things neat and tidy and will also make better sense if the company does
expand.
In terms of placing the Security and Distribution Groups, would it be
worth
creating a new OU called 'Groups' and placing all the Security and
Distribution groups for the company in there? This way I have a single
container where I can view and manage all the groups?
Thanks again for all your help.
Rgds,
Yasser Hussein
p.s. sorry about the double-posting - will use the cross-post feature next
time!
Glad you saw the cross-post reference! Nice method!
Anyway, as far as groups, you could create an OU for groups, if you like.
For a small infrastructure you can keep them together with the users,
however in a larger infrastructure, I would create a separate OU for them.
