Re: PC pointing to DC in other locations

Hi,

Thanks for the fast answer.
I have checked the configuration the setup is exactelly in the way that you
recomand:

The site where i want my PC to connect is A and i added my subnet to this
site;
The site where my PC is connecting is B and does not have any information
about my subnet.

Very strange !!

Thanks,

You will need to add the subnets to your sites for the client.
An example will explain beter:
Client PC --> 10.10.10.1/24
add the subnet the client belongs to the site where you want the client to
authenticate.
Go to sites and services --> choose subnets add subnet 10.10.10.0
255.255.255.0 to you subnet and asign the subnet to the right site.

Hi,

I already have splitted te domain by sites (the domain is member in a forest
- the sites are necessaries for the replication).

Example:
- I have a PC1 in location A;
- I have 2 DC in location A (all roles for the domain are on these 2 DC -
PDC emulator, GC, Master Role, etc.);
- location A - switch 100 Mbits, without network problems;

- I have 1 DC in location B (also a GC);
From time to time the PC1 is getting the authentifications from DC in B;

It is something that can be setup in DNS for querry first the DC in the same
location?

Hi all,

We have a child domain with 15 DC spreaded in several locations. From time
to time the PC are authentificating on DCs in other locations, even if in
the
same location I have another 2 DC. All actions after the authentificationa
are taking a lot of time when the user is trying to access the file server
(queryng again to the DC for authentification).

Do you know a way to force the PCs to search in list of DC before
authentificate?
It is a way to setup in DHCP the addresses of the local DC?
