my 2003 domain have this bizar problem with event logs.
I go clearing them from my servers to a shared folder (tried few
different folders on different machines) and get access denied (I use
domain admin user).
there is no problem with any other file: I can create, change, delete
files in\out these shared folders.
any ideas?


Sounds like you're trying to save them in .evt format, which must be
stored locally because only the local system has the necessary DLLs to
format the messages. One option would be to save them locally then copy
them to your network share, keeping in mind that the end result may or
may not be useful depending on if the machine used to view the stored
logs as the same DLLs.

Alternatively, you could save them as CSV or TXT files, which go through
the message formatting DLLs before writing to disk.
