Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Some objects may only have a Pre-Windows 2000 name as many default objects.

sorry for what may be an obvious question for some of you...

When setting up NTFS permissions for a file/folder, why are groups listed
with the netbios domain name (e.g. MYDOMAIN\Administrators) and specific
users are listed with the dns name (e.g. jsmith@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx)?

The domain is not an upgrade, but a straight SBS 2003 install.

Thanks,
Fred
