Difference between DNT & SID

Hello

Just wanted to know what is the difference between Distinguised Name Tag &
SID

Both are unique to the specific domain.

I know DNT is used in the NTDS.DIT file for the records and SID is for
security.

But if each is unique and 32 bit, why have to unique ids per each record?
