Re: Roaming profile only roaming in safe mode

Hi

- roaming profiles don't work in normal logon process?
- Check permissions - Make sure that everyone as full access, then the
system replaces the permissions with users.

Hello everyone,
Could someone please try to help me with this issue? I have roaming
profiles set up for 35 people, each having their own computer. All
computers are working with this but one and it will work if started in
safe mode. I have posted this before and have included the comments
brought up in that posting. Thank you for all of your help in advance.

Thank you,
Matthew

Will it load another roaming users profile?

Hello,
I asked this question in the microsoft.public.server.general newgroup
and
they were not sure of a resolution.

I am having issues with roaming profiles running on Windows XP and
Windows
Server 2003. The issue is that I have one computer that will not load
the
roaming profile. When I look at the user status dialog box, it shows
that
the user profile is of the type roaming but status is local and when I
attempt to change the status, roaming is shaded out. All of the other
computers have the same software. Could this issue be something related
to
the settings in the AD? Is there anything in the registry that could
change
this. Any help that you can provide would be great.

I tried starting windows in safe mode and the roaming profile works
fine.
I
have checked the services that were running and they made no difference.
I
also removed the items from the startup list with no success.

Thank you,
Matthew Withers

There are setting in the local profile to force local profiles. If
you've
already checked for these verify this is not a particular user. Does
it
happen to all users on that box? Is the computer in the same OU as the
other workstations? Does the user have permissions to the roaming
profile.

I have looked at the local security policy and I don't see anything
that
should effect the roaming profile. Could you be more specific please.

Thank you
Matthew
