Re: Can ADAM do this?

Yes, you can do that. ADAM can actually authenticate Windows users directly
if the machine ADAM is on has a trust relationship with the Windows
accounts. If they are in the same forest and the ADAM machine is a member
of that forest, then it should be able to authenticate any of them.
In order to search for them, you would need to sync some attributes to ADAM.
You might also be able to authenticate against the GC for the forest and
search the GC directly if you didn't want to use ADAM.

I'm not all that familiar with ADAM, so please help me out here. I have 2
domains that are part of the same forest. We have an outside application
that we would like to set up to authenticate to Active Directory, but it
would need to authenticate against both of these domains. Can I set up an
ADAM instance, that syncs users from both domains, and allows this outside
application to authenticate against the ADAM instance?
Thanks in advance!
Barb
