No, no... we do have entires both before and after these incidents, so I
don't believe something has been overwritten. I have checked both in System
and Security.
Are you aware of any admin "inactivity" safeguards built into Windows
Server? Obviously log-in hours and things like that cannot be modified in AD
for the admin, so perhaps there are other special treatments of this account
as well.

You'll want to be sure the logs are not beinng overwritten before you get a
chance to check them. You might want to increase the size of the event logs.

Thanks for the quick replies, Kidem and Danny!
Yes, I did check the event logs, and there didn't seem to be anything
relavent to this.
As far as being more speific, not sure what more I can say...
administrator
loses all privileges. Not sure of the exact span of time, this only
happens
when we need to leave admin logged in overnight, so "sometime during the
night". Logging out and logging back in restores them. That's all.
Just was wondering if there's perhaps some built-in security safeguard in
Windows Server 2000/2003 to automatically lock the admin after a certain
period of inactivity (and thus everything is functioning as it should), or
if
perhaps there's a bigger AD issue going on that needs to be looked into
further (simple things can sometimes be indicative of bigger issues).

Greetings,
I've never seen this before, and was hoping someone on here could
offer
some advice...
The administrator account loses all priviledges when left logged in
overnight. This happens on several servers, both 2003 and 2000, so I
suspect it is an AD issue. I've already checked the obvious things
like
policies and screen saver settings.
It is not a huge issue, as logging out and logging back in fixes it.
Still, it might be indicative or a larger issue.
Thanks!

Can you be more specific!!
