Ok cool, so if we were to migrate the exchange store at a later date. Would
it matter if i started installing AD on my side (US) before they started?
DNS issues?
Thanks again for you help Chris

There are tools to migrate the exchange stores (user mailboxes and public.
folders) to the new environment that is not a problem.

That's what i would've prefered but they don't want to lose the existing
e-mails (store)

If it's not a proper deployment you may want to start over for a new
corporate AD and migrate over existing resources, as well the existing
exchange server and it's stores.

Thanks Chris, I just started at the company and don't have a lot of
details.
All they've said was they have exchange 2003 running on a PC (yes a PC)
and
wanted us and them to have ad/exchange on these new servers. Like you
said
if they have exchange 2003 then they have to have AD already.

Hello,
according to the scenario that you describe it sounds like there
already
are
an Active Directory Forest with Exchange in place in India. Right?
If so your company have to decide how to move on, if you would like to
use
the existing Active Directory forest, or design a new forest. or may
having
multiple forests
My recommendation is always a single forest with a single domain as
long
there is no special needs for isolation or a very large directory. It
very
much depends on the company and there actives as well.

I was wondering what would be the best approach to implementing
Active
Directory at my work.
We currently have a VPN over to India where we retrieve our mail
from
an
exchange 2003 server. We just got 4 new servers for AD/Exchange 2003
2
for
US
2 for India. We'd like to migrate the mail store from the original
server
to
the new one in India and then have replication between India and US.
I was wondering if I created my AD environment first here in US
would
it
cause any problems for when they do it in India.
Thank You!!!
