I recently attempted to rename a domain controller computer following the
first procedure detailed by MS here:
http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/Library/2ffc842c-6841-40e0-b903-fb3838f6ac261033.mspx
The first step, renaming using System Properties, was successful. When I
attempted the second step, updating the FRS member object, I experienced
an
error. Using ADSI edit to update the Attribute: fRSMemberRefence to
reflect
the new computer name I recieve the error "The name reference is invalid".
I am concerned that this is going to adversly effect AD replication.
