Re: active directory will not start

How is the file system on the Domain Controllers, it any other files
corrupted? Run check disk on the same volumes as the ntds.dit (ad database)
and the transaction logfiles are located on.. chkdsk /f (ensure you use the
/f fix flag)

Running Windows 2003 server and sometime over the weekend the ntds.nis
database was corrupted. We are unable to boot into active directory on
our
PDC (our only domain controller) and any of the ntdsutil utilities that we
attempt fail with a JetEngine initialization error. We cannot even
perform a
lossy repair!! Any help would be appreciated as we are desparate.
