I must confess I've never had to perform the operations in that KB. I could
try and repro this for you, but I'm not going to be able to do this until
the weekend after next, as it'll take me a while and I'm out of town this
week and most of next.

I suggest you log an incident with Microsoft PSS.

Posting the resolution here, as a follow up, will probably benefit a number
of people.
