Hi,
The only time you need an SSL connection is when you change passwords, so I
suspect that is the problem. When the command fails you may be unable to
establish an SSL connection with the DC. I remember being prompted for
credentials on Win9x clients (to no avail) when I attempted to set
passwords. I could change anything except passwords because of this.

Hello I am running a windows 2003/2000 Active directory.
My workstation is a Windows XP PRO
I am having trouble with this command running
"dsmod user CN=user,ou=Users,DC=domain -u
CN=administrator,ou=Users,DC=domain -p * -pwd 1234"
when I remote desktop into my server (2003) as the domain\administrator
it worked perfectly. when I logon as the "domain\administrator" to my
workstation the follow command ran perfectly. When I am logged into my
workstation has me it does not and I get this
"Enter Password:
(domain\administrator's password is entered)
dsmod failed:The parameter is incorrect.
type dsmod /? for help."
I changed nothing in the command. in fact I copied and pasted the
command all three times (from a txt file). I have tired changing the
-u to the full distinguished name, & to just administrator
I tried changing the -p to the password, & putting the password in "",
& tried dropping the -p. I tried adding the -s or -d
-pwd is the only dsmod switch that gives me this error. others like
-mustchpwd -canchpwd -pwdneverexpires etc work great.
Thank you taking the time to read this
.
