Hey!

"Somebody" messed up our security settings on the homefolders, so now
the users don't have their own username with full access on their own
folders anymore...

Since when you create the homefolders, you can use
\\server\home\%username% to create the non existent homefolder under
the Profile tab in AD, and that way you can select multiple users,
and it automatically creates all the folders with the right name and
right permissions.
So I tried to take one user, wihout his own permissions, went in to
AD, changed a letter in the path, and changed it back so it would
force a "change" on the path, and then a warning popup comes up,
telling me the path already exists, and I have the option to replace
the permissions... I hit yes, and then that homefolder was actually OK
again! Great! :)

Thought, well that's easy to fix then, just select all users at once,
and then do the same thing, and all users homefolders will be fixed.
Wellllll... no... if you select more than one user, then you get a
little different warning message, about the folder already existing,
but NO option to fix the permissions!! :(

Anyone who knows how to fix this, or a different/better solution?!??

TIA!!!

ps. I've tried to use ADModify, which doesn't error out, but it
doesn't seem to be able to replace the permissions either.. :(

Create a script? Below are two examples.

1. Resets The Permission On A Collection Of Home Folders... Resets the
permission on a collection of Home Folders by parsing home folder names
for account names and granting that account and administrators access.
Requires xcacls.vbs.

2. Resets The Permission On A Collection Of Home Folders Ver 2... (ver. 2)
Reset the permission on a collection of Home Folders by parsing home
folder names for account names and granting that account and
administrators access. Now with that filtering capability everyone asked
for. Requires xcacls.vbs.

There are thousands of free scripts at this link where the above scripts
came from. If the above scripts don't work, click on VBS, then do a search
on "home folder" :
