shifting domain controller problems ..

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Well i need to reinstall My first domain controller which i first created
when creating domain .. automatically it was assingn all the roles in the
Active directory domain.
Now i created a backup domain controller & shifted all roles to it , "
Schema Master, Domain naming master, Infrastructure Master, Relative ID
(RID) Master, & PDC Emulator & Global catalog server. including DNS server".

Now when i shut the old server down problems comes .. like the map drive
script doesnt work gives error of logon servers, profiles home directory
doesnt show up .take too much time logging in .
but when i start the old server everything returns to normal..


what could be the problem ?
