Thanks for the update,
just to add to it.

The backed up data of AD, more than 60days is of no use then..
do we need to maintain the backup tapes older that 60days for AD.

is there any proper back method or Best practise for AD

when a link is down between 2 DCs and those DCs replicate with each

both will log events in the event log because replication is not
possible.
They will do that until the link is repaired and available again.
However,
you MUST make sure DCs replicate at least once within the tombstone
lifetime.

The value for the tombstone lifetime for a forest is:
W2K (any SP): 60 days (fresh installed)
W2K3: 60 days (fresh installed)
W2K3 SP1: 180 days (fresh installed)
W2K3 SP1: 60 days (upgraded from W2K3 to W2K3 Sp1)

I have a query regarding DC replications

What would be the effect if the Additional domain controller is out of
the
replication bussines for more than two days due to link down.
Will the replication take place once the link is up between the Root DC
and
ADC. Is there a minimum time prescribed for the DC to be UP and running

Thanks in Advance
