This is usually a DNS problem, as Cary says, however I've not seen or
heard that error for a bad DNS setting. I wouldn't rule out the
firewall on these boxes just yet either - although again you usually
get generic errors that suggest the box is off.
You should also check the workstation's services, and event logs.
Anything amiss? Is the server service running?
There is only one entry for the target machine(s) in DNS and reverse lookup
zones. Firewall is definitely disabled (completely) on all machines in the
domain (verified on the target machines). Server service is running,
everything else works fine. Only problem is that I get this error when
attempting to manage the machine. Nothing out of the ordinary in the event
logs.
