Is there not also a possibility to 'repair' the Default Domain Policy and
the Default Domain Controllers Policy? Or, do these not apply to this post?

Note that in a number of scenarios the defaults as defined in the schema
are
not the defaults of a new installation. DCPROMO defines a whole bunch of
permissions when it runs. The defaults, are just that. I would be vary
wary of resetting to the defaults without a test. In fact, I would setup
a
test environment and duplicate the permissions this way.
