Hi, I am new to Windows Server 2003 and Active Directory. I have configured my new installation as a Domain and File Server. I am trying to create a new user. When I click Finish after inputting the password, I receive the following error message:

"Windows cannot set the password for 'user' because: The password does not meet the password policy requirements. Check the minimum password length, password complexity and password history requirements."

I have checked all of these in the Domain Controller Security Policy and see nothing wrong.

Is there anything that I am missing?

Please advise.

Thanks,

Hi, I had this problem and it seemed to be fixed if I changed the local domain security settings (password policy) as well as the domain settings.
Might be worth a try?
