Graham,
Yes, you would most likely want to do this. A Subnet is defined as 'locally
well-connected'. So, assuming that you are running at least 10/100 in the
Office but probably something like 768kbps over the VPN (and PaulW can
better speak to this topic....do not forget that you loose some of that
speed because it is going over the VPN) you would definitely want to run it
as you have described.

One other question. Would I be advised to use a different sub-network
for the UK office too. For example, if the Us office had a subnet of
192.168.0.0, mask 255,255,255,0, would the UK be something like
192.168.1.0, mask 255.255.255.0?
