Re: Forest trust child domain not visible in logon dialog box

you can use the UPN (implicit or explicit) or you can use the NT style logon
by entering <domain>\<user> in the username field. For the latter you may
need to first install a hotfix.

Look at:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windowsserver2003/technologies/directory/activedirectory/fedffin2.mspx
search for (without the quotes) "User Experience Changes in Moving to Forest
Trusts from External Trusts"

start reading from there.

I'm looking into Active Directory forest trust, but stumbled into a
problem. The setup is two forests (2003 native mode); one of the forests
contains two domains, root domain A and child domain B. The second forest
contains only one domain (domain C). I've created a one-way forest trust
between domain A and domain C, outgoing trust from domain C.

I'm logging onto servers/clients in domain C, using a user account from
domain B. However, the logon dialog box do not display the child domain B
only the root domain A. I have no problem logging on by using the user
logon name, but I would like to actually see the domain in the domain
list. Is it supposed to work this way?

Thanks!
