Re: Migrating a NT4 Domain into an Active Directory Domain



The only way to make the xyz domain at site B part of the AD forest
(us.domain.com) is to upgrade the xyz NT4 PDC creating a child domain of
us.domain.com or a new tree.

That being said you can build a new NT 4 BDC and switch it to being the PDC.
Then upgrade it

You also need to think about decommissioning NT4 DC's.

btw, Virtual PC 2004 and Virtual Server 2005 can be your friends when short
of hardware and in need of a 'transitional' and temporary server.
