Is it possible....

Is it possible to have more than one site within a single subnet?

If so, and you find it readily available (I haven't), can you point me
to reference material that talks about doing this and its
costs/ramifications?

Scenario: We have a remote site connected by lightly used (but not
100% reliable) megabit modem. This remote site has a domain controller
and an assortment of users. Its on the same subnet as our primary site
and uses the global catalog, dns, dhcp and wins services located at
the primary. There may be other reasons as well why the remote site's
on our subnet...I don't know for sure (not the network admin). Anyway,
we have multiple dcs at the primary site, but about 40% of our primary
site's users are, for some reason, hitting this remote domain
controller for net logon.

I'd mostly like to understand why, if possible...and if something is
broken here, how to fix it, of course.

Many TIA,
Renee
