Re: Fsmo role transfers



If you are moving dns, wins, etc... I would try to do this after normal
business hours. Are you prepared so that if the server ip address changes
all your clients that use this new ip address will be updated (WINS, DNS)?
The Time To Live (TTL) should expire on any dns records if you do after
hours since by the time users come back in they will have to hit the dns
server. Transferring roles can be done most anytime, just give your ad time
to replicate before making other changes. Transfering user folders is
something that should also be done after hours othrwise you are going to get
file locks from open files.

Order shouldn't matter.
