Re: AD modes

The switch from mixed mode to native mode only affects replication between
the AD DCs and NT 4.0 BDCs. It has no affect on member servers in the same
domain, clients in the same domain, trusts with NT 4.0 domains, clients in
trusted NT 4.0 domains, member servers in trusted NT 4.0 domains, NT 4.0
PDCs, in trusted domains, trusts with AD domains, clients, DCs, or member
servers in trusted AD domains.

If you are planning on adding/keeping an NT 4.0 BDC on the domain - don't
make the switch.
If you never plan on adding/keeping an NT 4.0 BDC to the domain - go ahead
and make the switch.

There is no "supported" way to go back to mixed mode from native mode.
If you try you are basically on your own. If it's "not supported" most
admins won't waste their time going down that route because it would more
that likely lead to a dead end that you would have to format and reinstall
to recover from. If it did seem to work, how can you be sure something else
didn't get screwed up?
