Are you able to resolve:
_ldap._tcp.gc._msdcs.domain-name.com
Where domain-name.com is the name of the root domain.
Also, install the support tools (from SP1) and run:
nltest /dsgetsite
Then,
nltest /dsgetdc:domain-name.com /gc
and
nslookup -type=srv _ldap._tcp.sitename._sites.gc._msdcs.domain-name.com
Where sitename is the name of the site returned by /dsgetsite and
domain-name.com is the name of the root domain.
