Re: Restore ADAM Instance

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

ADAM is unable to update backup exclusion key due to ACCESS_DENIED. The key
tells backup that the files need to be backed up with VSS (as opposed to
file backup).

Make sure the key
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\FilesNotToBackup key is
writeable for (a) the user who installs the instance and (b) the service
account.

Without this, backups are pretty much broken.
