This is the result of the nslookup on the host:
C:\>nslookup
Default Server: localhost
Address: 127.0.0.1
> terminator
Server: localhost
Address: 127.0.0.1
*** localhost can't find terminator: Non-existent domain
>
"terminator" is the client. "predator" is the DC. I looked at the
host and I have a forward lookup zone of forward.my_domain.com with a
record for predator in it type "A". I have 4 reverse lookup zones:
0.in-addr.arpa
127.in-addr.arpa
255.in-addr.arpa
99.168.192.in-addr.arpa
This last one has a PTR record with the name 50 and data "predator".
The info for the DC/DNS server is name predator IP 192.168.99.50. This
is a static address and is unique. I can ping around the clients by
name, but do not resolve them by nslookup. Does this help? I hope
so, 'cause I'm totally confused.
Thanks,
Jim
