Fail searching an attribute with special character

Hi..
This is a very strange issue:

I have an object called cn=Ran with displayName = iin\\Ran
I have an object called cn=Alex with displayName = iin\\Alex

If my filter is displayname=iin\\Ran i get the first object
If my filter is displayname=iin\\Alex i dont get any results
If my filter is displayname=iin\\* i get two object in my results

What am i doing wrong?

.
