Recommended DNS Configuraiton on AD/DNS Server

Greetings,
I have 4 Domain Controllers, All GC's, two of which provide DNS Services as
follows
DC1 - AD, DNS, WINS, DHCP
DC2 - AD, DNS, WINS, DHCP
DC3 - AD
DC4 - AD

DC3 and DC4 point to both DC1 and DC2 for DNS and WINS Services as Primary
and secondary

However I would like to know in Win2003 what to do with DC1 and DC2.
Originally back in 1999 MS recommended we point DC1 and DC2 to THEMSELVES
ONLY for DNS and WINS. This results in a very long boot process and some
errors in Win2003 on startup.

Any ideas, recommendations or docs you can point me at to help here???
