HELP!!! Cannot access Active Directory

AD does not allow accessing or changing of any component even by
administrator. When Active Directory Users and Computers is opened (or sites
n services & Domains & Trusts) gives an error stating the Naming convention
could not be found. The DNS is on the DC n wrkg fine. All users can login
(uncached users too), can also change their own passwords, but when the
administrator tries to access the ADS it gives the Naming convention error n
if the target DC is changed to DC2 (which is the only other DC) it again
gives either the same error or an error that says the security attribute is
unavailable. Backup isnt getting restored as well. Can export ALL DATA OUT OF
active directory thru csvde and ldifde. cannot add user thru dsadd. DHCP &
exchange has stopped wrkg subsequently. Please help. Am sure the active
directory database is fine just that it cannot be accessed. May be some of
the administrator here by mistake removed the permissions to everyone. Tried
giving full control access to windows\ntds and ntds.dit and sysvol folder but
still in vain. Please help. Thank you
.
