How does the netbootGUID attribute get populated?

This attribute is not populated in my AD.
It's listed as an 'optional' attribute for Computer Objects in the Schema.

It was my assumption that this attribute would contain the System UUID for
all the computers that are members of my Domain, but this does not seem to be
happening automatically.

Is there something that I need to do to enable this behavior?

I don't want to use the System UUID to enable remote booting at the present
time, however I do want to collect this information for future use...

Thanks in advance,
