Thanks Todd.

I have already moved forward using our public domain name but going
with an internal DNS server and an external DNS server. I would still
like see something that outlines both the advantages and disadvantages
of the two strategies.

If you make a compelling argument I can always start over with the
upgrade. I will only have one 2003 server up for testing purposes for
the next couple of days... it will be quite easy to perform the upgrade
again.
