sI couldn't find a group dedicated specifically to AD question on Win 2000
server so i am going to post this question here...sorry
here's the scenario..
We currently have a web application that uses forms based authentication
which is stored in a SQL server database....So user logs in, the username is
vaidated against this sql database and then depending on their job function
another set of rules and permissions stored in a different table are run for
that particular user...
The business that use this application want to move the wuthentication peice
of this app from SQL to AD but leave the permissions table in this SQL
database...
So ideally, a user logs in, they are authenticated against AD and then the
request is passed back to this SQL server where the validated username is
matched against the same username in the table and then the appropriate
permissions set are granted.
Is there anything out there that can do this?
The business do not want to move the permission set to AD coz it is huge and
complicated and took them like 6 months to get right.
I know its a shot in the dark but is there anything out there that can
achieve this?
many thanks for any help....
