Hi all,

I got two questions here, hope someone can give me a hand here.

Question 1,

On our Win2K advanced server, we got a folder redirection group policy
setup, all the "My Documents" folders are redirected to a different location.
e.g \\Document server\users\%username%\My Documents\. The removal policy
setting is to "Redirect the folder back to the local userprofile location
when policy is removed." I tried to test it, by removing the group policy.
It doesn't seems to be working, because all the "My Documents" folder remain
at where ever they are. I thought Windows should move the directory back to
the C:\documents and settings\%username%\. I tried to login as the user, but
the user profile still doesn't change, the still looking at the old location.
I tried to create a new user and obviously the folder redirection is no
longer apply, because "My documents" is setting under C:\Documents and
settings\. So i am sure there no more folder redirection policy.

Question 2,
I got a folder redirection group policy setup for all the "My Documents" and
"Application Data" directories on our Win2k terminal server, The "policy
removal" is set to "Leave the folder in the new location when policy is
removed". There are many user profile created after the policy was applied.
Now we tried to change thing back. The reason for the redirection was we
tried to avoid user save their files onto the C: (system) drive as it might
run out of space. According to the article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q214636/
we can change the location of all the userprofile. We would like to do
that, but there is one problem, we also want to merge the "My Documents" and
"Application Data" back to the userprofile, rather than let it sitting
somewhere. I tried to remove the group policy, but it didn't work, all the
existing userprofile are still looking at the redireted Folder location,
even though i copy all the "My Documents" and "Application data" back to the
userprofiles, but still the same. The only way i can do it is, delete the
user profile and let windows create one when the user login again, then i can
copy and paste the data back. But it is too much work if you got many user
profiles and you don't know when is the next time the user login.

What can i do? What is the best approach?
Many Thanks and Happy New Year!!!
