We have primary servers and their spares which are exact replicas (cloned
hard drives). The problem I am having is that when I would like to simulate a
failure with the primary, so I power off the primary and power on the spare
and I have a painful process of getting the spare to login and be a part of
the domain. The spare has all the same configurations (Name, IP). My question
is what would be the correct/faster way to bring the spare server up without
having to remove/add it to the domain and delete the computer account from AD?

Thanks in advance,

John
