I am having a problem when booting my W2K Server system (directory
controller). It is telling me that Direcotry Services is not starting due to
not being able to read files. It only tells me to read the event logs, but I
cannot find what is the problem.

It is not telling me WHAT files cannot be read, nor do I know how to
recreate them. Just before the problem started, I had cleared a volume that
was previously used only for holding remote installation images. I am not
using RIS anymore, so I cleared the volume for other uses. It looks like
something that was on there is needed by Directory Services, so the question
is: how do I re-create what is now missing and tell Directory Services to
look elsewhere for it?
