Yep. Just because it's not supported doesn't mean it doesn't work ;-)

Minasi covers this in some detail in his Windows Server books (or at least,
in 2000 4th Ed. and 2003).

Actually, you can use RIS to deploy WIN2000 Server.  It is sorta a secret,
though.
