two of several ways to verify:
In administration tools menu, is there an "Active Directory users and
computers"
In administrtive tools, is DNS installed, and if so does it have an _mscds
zone.
If no to either of these items it is not a domain conroller.
There is no tombstone lifetime on local security priciples, so restoring is
not a problem
